Chongqing
Chongqing is one of China's four direct-controlled municipalities (the other three are Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin) and covers an area of 82,400 square kilometers with a population of 31.24 million. It is a modern port city on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers.
There are many famous tourist attractions in Chongqing. Such as the Monument to the people’s Liberation, Chaotianmen, Hongya cave, Three gorges, Dazu Rock Carvings. Among one of the most famous tourist attractions in Chongqing is the Three Gorges, tourists can visit the Qutang Gorge, the Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge by boat leaving from the Chaotianmen Pier. The beautiful scenery on both sides of the river attracts local Chinese tourists as well as tourists from all over the world.
