Hunan

Hunan province, abbreviated as ‘Xiang’, is located in south of the middle reaches of Yangtze River, with Changsha as its provincial capital. It covers an area of 211,800 square kilometers with the population of 69.18 million. Hunan was first recorded as being part of dynastic China in 350BC (more than 2000 years).

Hunan Province boasts many famous scenic spots. Among them, the best-known include: the Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area where the gorgeous Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located, the Fenhuang Ancient Town, the Mount Lang, the Mount Heng, the Yueyang Tower and the Dongting Lake. Furthermore, it is also the home of many famous communist leaders, including Mao Zedong, Liushaoqi, etc.
