Zhangye
Zhangye borders Inner Mongolia on the north and Qinghai on the south. It covers an area of 42,000 square kilometers with a population of 1.199 million. It was called as Ganzhou in ancient time. As the ‘arm’ in Zhang Period to the communication with the western regions in Western Han Dynasty, Zhangye got its name and has always been praised as ‘the Yangtze River region in the frontier’ and ‘the golden Zhangye’.
