Xi'an North Station is located in the Weiyang District of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, China. Construction began on September 19, 2008, and it was put into operation on January 11, 2011. It is situated on the central axis of the northern part of Xi'an city, 14 kilometers from the city center's Bell Tower, 3 kilometers from the Xi'an administrative center, and 25 kilometers from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. It is the most important and largest railway passenger hub in the northwest region and one of the main passenger stations in the Xi'an railway hub. As of December 2019, Xi'an North Station covers an area of 533,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 336,600 square meters, including a main station building area of 171,000 square meters and a waiting area of 116,300 square meters. Xi'an North Station serves as a city transfer node for tourism in Xi'an, with its convenient transfer system transporting a large number of tourists to cultural tourism areas such as the Hancheng National Heritage Park and the Daming Palace National Heritage Park. It is set to rise as a modern new city integrating commerce, dining, culture, leisure, exhibitions, and logistics.
