The Green Lake Park

The Green Lake Park situated in the city center in Kunming and facing Yunnan University, is one of the most beautiful city parks. It is at the foot of Luofeng Mountain and was established in the 17th century on the west side of the Wuhua Mountain. The Green Lake Park used to be a part of Dianchi Lake, but has become an independent lake now because of the water level decreasing. Two long banks divide Green Lake into four parts. The banks are covered with an abundance of willow trees and dotted with a variety of vibrant lotuses. Now the park is for daily leisure and playing with seagulls in winter for locals and travelers in Kunming. The best season to visit Green Lake is the winter. During winter season, the city is still warm and sunny. The Green Lake attracts red-pecked seagulls from Siberia who migrate there to escape the arctic chill. They entertain the crowds of visitors as they swoop and dive across the lake. It will bring shocking and unforgettable experiences for the tourists. Usually, 1-2 hours will be suggested to take for visiting this park.
