Huangyao, a famous town in Guangxi. Located in Zhaoping County, Guangxi, 200 kilometers from Guilin, it borders Zhongshan Tonggu Town and Qingtang Town to the north, is adjacent to Fenghuang Township and Gonghui Town in Hezhou to the east, borders Zhangmulins Township and Fuluo Town to the south, and is close to Zouma Township to the west. It is an ancient town with a history and culture of over 900 years, situated at the lower reaches of the Li River, known as the "Dream Home." It originated during the Song Dynasty, was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and flourished during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The town is named "Huangyao" because the majority of its residents have the surnames Huang and Yao. Huangyao Ancient Town is listed as a civilized ancient town in Guangxi. The town has over 600 households, eight streets, and most of the houses retain the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with streets paved with bluestone slabs. The ancient town preserves more than 20 temples and shrines, over 10 pavilions and towers, mostly built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with notable sites including Wenming Pavilion, Baozhu Temple, Xingning Temple, Lion Temple, Ancient Opera Stage, Wu Family Ancestral Hall, Guo Family Ancestral Hall, and Zuolong Temple, among others.
