Huangcheng Laoma is a restaurant mainly focused on hot pot, considered one of the most upscale hot pot places in Chengdu. It features a large pot for each table, with many types of broth available for guests to choose from, including spicy oil broth, yin-yang broth, and clear soup broth, allowing for selection based on personal preference. The decor is quite upscale, showcasing the cultural atmosphere of old Chengdu while also incorporating modern elements. Sometimes there are Sichuan opera performances, and the flavor of the hot pot is particularly outstanding; although it may not be as numbing and spicy as expected, the aftertaste is very satisfying. Some of the restaurant's more distinctive dishes include Laoma's signature beef, tripe, goose intestines, yellow throat, yellow spicy fish, and beef, all of which are quite popular and favored by diners. The broth is relatively mild, with a complete variety of ingredients for dipping, using fresh ingredients; the beef is tender, and the goose intestines are crunchy, with prices being quite reasonable.
