Wong Tai Sin Temple

Founded in 1945, Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the most famous monuments in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It enjoys a great reputation both in Hong Kong and abroad. It is well known to all. On the first day of the lunar new year, people always fight for incense. It is said that the Huang Da Xian worshipped in the temple is "responsive" and very effective. There are hints everywhere in the temples that Huang Da Xian's daily visits are mainly "five offerings": incense, flower, lamp, water and fruit. Hong Kong people believe that as long as they offer incense or flowers, they can get Wong Tai Sin's attention and pray that what they wish will come true. It is also the only Taoist temple in Hong Kong that can hold Taoist weddings.
