Tangmo Village

Classification:

Tangmo Village, established during the Tang Dynasty, was founded by the great-great-grandfather of Wang Hua, the Duke of Yue during the Tang Dynasty. Originally under the jurisdiction of She County, it now belongs to Huizhou District (formerly the western township of She County). Historically, it has been praised as a "model village of the Tang Dynasty" due to its vibrant economy and simple folk customs, making it a culturally rich ancient village with a long history in Huizhou. Tangmo is located in Qiankou Town, Huizhou District, Huangshan City, adjacent to the Tangyue Archway Group in She County. The Tanggan Creek runs through the village, with houses lining both banks. The village is famous for its ancient camphor trees, the beauty of the flowing water in the central street, the saying "nine looks for every ten bridges," and the reputation of "one village with three Hanlin scholars." The ambiance of "the sound of clothes being beaten from thousands of doors and households" is now hard to find, and hearing it feels like being in the bustling streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, evoking a sense of ancient charm and deep local sentiment. This peaceful, harmonious, simple, and tranquil life provides a great sense of stability and endless longing. Enjoying a cup of Huangshan Maofeng tea while leisurely appreciating the scenery of the water street and watching performances organized by the tourism department is a rare pleasure. A recommended visiting time is around 2-3 hours.
