Mutianyu Great Wall

Mutianyu Great Wall is a very good choice if you don’t want to spend toomuch time on the road.  Get to Mutianyu only takes 1-1.5 hours drive (in goodtraffic) from downtown Beijing. It is located in Beijing’s Huairou District, 73kilometers from Beijing, was built in the Northern Qi Dynasty and laterrestored in the Ming Dynasty. Today, Mutianyu is said to be the best preservedsection and the best construction quality in comparison with the other parts ofthe Great Wall. Mutianyu is 22 kilometers in length and 5 meters wide with atotal of 22 watchtowers. The surrounding natural scenery is breath-taking.Woods cover over ninety-six percent of the total scenic area. Flowers bloom allover the mountains in spring. Grasses dress the hillside green in summer.Trees are laden with sweet fruit in autumn, and especially in October, leavesturn red or yellow, touching the mountain tops with gold. In winter, the wall iscovered by snow, making it more magnificent. As the Mutianyu Great Wall hasbeen renovated, making it easier and safer to climb. And it is equipped withcableway and toboggan, possible for children and seniors to make a visit.
