White Water Terraces

White Water Terraces, also known as Baishuitai, is located at the foothills ofHaba Snow Mountains, Sanba Township. It is about 100 kilometers away fromShangri-La County. The terrace measures a length of 140 meters and a widthof 160 meters, being one of the largest such terraces in China. The terrace iscovered by a layer of white deposits of calcium carbonate which formed overmany years of gradual precipitation from the spring water. The terrace coversthe entire hillside and it looks like white waterfalls shade in the hillside.What’s amazing is the contrast between the white terraces with thesurrounding green fields and mountains. The White Water Terrace has verybeautiful scenery. In spring, when the surrounding mountains are dotted withbright-colored flowers, while the White Water Terrace resembles white jadesculpture, this combination presents the spectacular sights to enjoy. Usually,2-3 hours will be suggested to take for visiting this place.
