Labrang Monastery

Labuleng Monastery also known as Labrang Lamasery, located 1 kilometerwest of Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in GansuProvince. It built in  1709 by the first-generation Jamyang Zhaypa(livingbuddha),Ngawang Tsondru, is recognized as one of the six famousmonasteries of the Geluk School of the Tibetan Buddhism. It It covers a floorspace of 822,584 square meters, boasts the best Tibetan Buddhism systemand is hailed as the world’s largest Lamaism institute. It is reported to have108 smaller monasteries affiliated with Labrang Monastery in history, 40 insurrounding mountains and many others across China. It is visited frequentlyby tourists from both China and around the world for its typical Tibetanarchitectural style buildings as well as the numerous treasures like the Thangka paintings and the lifelike Buddha statues. The best time to visitLabrang Monastery is from May to October when the weather is mostdelightful. It usually takes about 3-4 hours to finish the whole trip.
