Bifengxia Panda Base

Classification:

The Bifengxia Panda Base is located 9 kilometers north of Ya'an City, Sichuan. It is a base that integrates tourism, scientific research, and giant panda breeding. Established in 2003, it not only focuses on the breeding and research of the national treasure, the giant panda, but also promotes the protection of this endangered species worldwide, further expanding its population so that this precious species can thrive. The panda base is divided into six functional areas: the feeding area, breeding area, research area, office area, bamboo base, and living area. The base is split into two main regions, housing more than twenty laboratories and facilities, including a giant panda breeding center, a giant panda kindergarten, a giant panda hospital, and a giant panda research institute. It has been planted with six or seven types of bamboo that pandas enjoy. The panda free-range area is ten times larger than the Wolong Center, with mountains, forests, bamboo, and water coexisting, and the feeding and research staff present, reflecting a natural atmosphere of "pandas, bamboo, and people." A half-day visit is recommended.
