Guiyang

Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province in southwestern China, is located in the eastern part of the Yunnan-Guizhou plateau and lies on the sunny side of the Guishan Mountain.

It covers an area of 8,034 square kilometers, by the end of 2018, the population of Guiyang is 4.88 million. It is said that in ancient times, the city was surrounded by dense bamboo groves, and was famous for producing a musical instrument known as Zhu. Hence the city is also called Zhu for short.

Guiyang is a popular summer resort city in China. The climate is often mild and moist, neither extremely hot nor cold. Spring, Summer, and Autumn are all wonderful seasons for sightseeing. The most famous scenic spots around Guiyang are Qingyan Ancient Town, Hongfeng Lake. A three-hour journey west from Guiyang is the Huangguoshu waterfall, one of the biggest waterfalls in China.
