Henan Province，Yu for short, located in the south of the Yellow River. Henan is the birthplace of Chinese civilization with over 4,000 years of recorded history. With an area of 167,000 square kilometers, Henan is China's third most populous province with a population of over 94 million at the end of 2018.
Highlight of Henan Province, Songshan Mountain lies southwest of Zhengzhou (the capital city) and it is one of the most famous mountains in China because of the rugged beauty of its peaks and the Bonsai-like appearance of its beautiful old trees. Shaolin Temple, the most famous Buddhist temple in China and the largest of the Songshan range, is located on Shaoshi Mountain. Shaolin Temple and Shaolin Gongfu (martial arts) have long taken on a legendry color and are famous both in and outside the country. While Longmen Grottoes, one of the three most famous grottoes is also located in Henan Province.
