Anhui Province, abbreviated as "Wan", is located in the northwest of eastern China and is a provincial-level administrative region of the People's Republic of China. The total area of the province is over 140,000 square kilometers, with a population of about 63 million. The capital is Hefei. During the Spring and Autumn period, the Wu and Chu states were established in what is now Anhui Province. As early as the Three Kingdoms and Tang and Song dynasties, agriculture and handicrafts in the Anhui region had already played an important role in the national economy. Anhui Province has an 800-mile-long urban agglomeration along the Yangtze River and the Wanjiang Economic Belt, with the Yangtze River waterway internally and the coastal economic radiation externally. It is also an important part of the Yangtze River Delta, situated at a strategic juncture for national economic development and the connection point for several major domestic economic sectors. There is a historical and natural connection between the economy, culture, and the Yangtze River Delta region. The cultural development here has a long history, consisting of four cultural circles: Huizhou culture, Huaihe culture, Wanjiang culture, and Luzhou culture. Major attractions in Anhui are located in the south, such as Huangshan, Xidi and Hongcun, Jiuhua Mountain, and the Guniujiang Scenic Area, among others.
