Zhejiang Province, abbreviated as Zhe, is located on the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta in southeastern coastal China. It is bordered by the East China Sea to the east, Fujian to the south, Anhui and Jiangxi to the west, and Shanghai and Jiangsu to the north. The land area is 100,500 square kilometers, with a population of 58.5 million. This region is one of the birthplaces of ancient Chinese civilization. As early as 50,000 years ago during the Paleolithic era, there were activities of primitive humans, and there are cultural sites such as the Hemudu culture dating back 7,000 years, the Majiabang culture dating back 6,000 years, and the Liangzhu culture dating back 5,000 years. It is known as the land of silk and the home of fish and rice. Zhejiang is one of the most economically active provinces in China, forming a distinctive Zhejiang economy. The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, which includes Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Shanghai, has become one of the six major world-class urban agglomerations. The tourism culture of Zhejiang belongs to the typical southeastern cultural region of China. Famous tourist attractions include West Lake in Hangzhou, Wuzhen in Jiaxing, Xitang, Putuo Mountain in Zhoushan, and Taihu Lake in Huzhou, among others.
