Beijing South Railway Station is located in Fengtai District, Beijing, China, about 7 kilometers from the city center. It is managed by China Railway Beijing Group Co., Ltd. and is the second largest train station in Beijing, as well as the largest in terms of area and the most train services. The old Beijing South Railway Station was established in 1897. On May 10, 2006, the old station officially began renovations. On August 1, 2008, the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway opened, and the new Beijing South Railway Station was officially reopened. As of August 2017, the station has a building area of 320,000 square meters, with 24 tracks and 13 platforms, including: 5 tracks and 3 platforms for regular trains from north to south; 12 tracks and 6 platforms for high-speed trains; and 7 tracks and 4 platforms for intercity trains.
