Zhengzhou, abbreviated as "Zheng", is the capital of Henan Province, located in the southern part of the North China Plain, in the northern central part of Henan Province, and along the lower reaches of the Yellow River. It is bordered by the Yellow River to the north, Mount Song to the west, and the vast Huanghuai Plain to the southeast. Zhengzhou has a permanent population of over 11 million and covers an area of more than 7,000 square kilometers. Zhengzhou became the capital during the early and mid-Shang Dynasty 3,600 years ago and is the birthplace of Shang civilization. The city has over 10,000 cultural relics and historical sites, including the "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architecture group in Dengfeng, the hometown of the Yellow Emperor, and the Shang City ruins, among other historical attractions. Zhengzhou is the second-largest city in central China and the economic center of Henan Province. It is also an important railway transportation hub in the country, with many railway lines converging here, and serves as a major hub for aviation, highways, electricity, postal services, and telecommunications in the country, making it an important industrial city in central China. From Zhengzhou, you can visit the famous Shaolin Temple on Mount Song and the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, and explore and touch China's mother river—the Yellow River.
