Litang
Litang County is under the jurisdiction of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province. It is located in the western part of Sichuan Province, in the southwestern part of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, 285 kilometers away from the prefectural capital Kangding and 654 kilometers from the provincial capital Chengdu.

Litang County is under the jurisdiction of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, located in the western part of Sichuan Province, in the southwestern part of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, 285 kilometers from the prefectural capital Kangding and 654 kilometers from the provincial capital Chengdu. The county government is located in Gaocheng Town. The total area is 14,182.27 square kilometers, with a population of 47,000 people and 282 village groups. There are nine ethnic groups: Tibetan, Han, Mongolian, Hui, Naxi, Tujia, Yi, Miao, and Qiang. Litang, in Tibetan, is spelled as Litang Zong in Tibetan pinyin. "Li" means "copper," and "tang" means "flat land," referring to a vast flat land resembling a copper mirror. Therefore, it is the land of the Litang chieftain. Major tourist attractions and activities include Litang Temple, Genyen Holy Mountain, Gemu Nature Reserve, and the Horse Racing Festival, among others.
