Huangguoshu Waterfall is located in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. It is a tributary of the Beipan River, which is a tributary of the Nanpan River in the mainstream of the Xijiang River system. It is the largest first-level waterfall in the Huangguoshu waterfall group and is one of the world's famous waterfalls. It was formerly known as the Baishui River Waterfall and is also called "Huanggeshu" Waterfall or "Huangjueshu" Waterfall, named after the widespread "Huangge Fig" in the area. It is renowned for its magnificent water flow. The waterfall is 77 meters high and 101 meters wide. Huangguoshu Waterfall is a typical erosion-type waterfall in karst landforms. The fame of Huangguoshu Waterfall began with the Ming Dynasty traveler Xu Xiake, and through the travels and dissemination by famous figures over the ages, it has now become one of the must-visit attractions in Guizhou.
