The Shibao Mountain

The Shibaoshan, also known as Shibao Mountain, is the southern branch of the LaoJun Mountain range. It is located 25 kilometers southwest of Jianchuan County in the northwest section of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. The landscape here is fascinating and beautiful. Here "The Stone's in Blossom" matches very well with the natural landscape of red sandstone. These turtle-back stones were created by a century of rainwater，and it continues to developed. The Shibaoshan is well known not only for its breathtaking landscape, but also for its marvelous grottoes. The Grottoes, known as "the gem of the south in Yunnan", were created by the ancient Bai People in the historical period of the Tan and Song Dynasties (850- 1179). For its high value, the Grottoes were listed as number one in the First Batch of National Key Cultural Relics under the State Protection level in 1961. Autumn is the best season to visit and summer the second. Spring is pleasant with abundant flowers. Winter is also good with enough highland sunshine. One day tour will be suggested for visiting Shibaoshan.
