Day 1 Lhasa Arrival (No Meal)

Meet your Tibetan guide at the airport and then transfer to the city (appr. 1 hour), it’s time to settle in the hotel, and take the advantage of this opportunity to adapt yourself to the altitude.

Day 2 Lhasa (B/L)

Visit the Barkhor Street, an ancient round road surrounding the Jokhang Temple; located in the center of old quarter of Lhasa city, the JokhangTemple is the site where the grand ceremony of deciding the next Panchen Lama (the lama next in rank to the Dalai Lama) is held; afternoon tour of the Drepung Monastery, with the support of plutocrats, it developed as theri chest of its kind of Gelugpa and became the mother temple of Dalai Lamas.

Day 3 Lhasa (B/L)

Morning tour of the Potala Palace, regarded as landmark and the symbol of Tibet, it is the highest palace and honored as the most beautiful building in the world due to its spectacular architecture style. 3 hours’ visit in labyrinth of staircases, apartments, ceremonial rooms and chapels; then followed by a visit to the Norbulingka, and the Sera Monastery (closed on Sunday) where the monks “daily debates” taking places.

Day 4 Lhasa-Yamdrok lake-Karola Glacier-Gyantse (B/L)

Early rise for a long day of traveling (280km, appr. 6 hours), where the surrounding beauty will probably help you forget. Along the highway Tibet - Nepal you will enjoy the view of the Yamdrok Lake and the Karola Glacier one by one. The scenery is just breathtaking.

Day 5 Gyantse-Shigatse (B/L)

Morning visit the Palcho Monastery, which was surrounded by an impressivered rampart and built in 1418, then a walk in the Tibetan old town. Afterwards, continue your journey to Shigatse (95km, 2hours), which is the second city of Tibet and was once the capital of the Tsang Kingdom, en-route passing by the Gyantse Plain area.

1 night at Tashi Chotar Grand Hotel in Shigatse or similar one

Day 6 Gyantse-Lhasa (B/L)

Morning visit the Tashilhunpo Monastery, which is a Gelugpa Monastery founded in 1447, followed by a relaxing stroll through the Tibetan Market, then drive back to Lhasa along Friendship Highway and Yalutsangpo River Valley (280km, appr. 5-6 hours), upon arrival, transfer to hotel.

Day 7 Lhasa-Chengdu Departure (B)

Transfer to Lhasa airport (70km, appr. 1.5 hours) for a flight to Chengdu (appr. 2 hours), upon arrival, transfer to the onward flight to your next destination on your own.
